Best bet is Thursday 15 October from 17:30 to 20:00, when the flood has been running for about three hours into dusk, with light north-north-westerly wind and moderate sea. Keep an eye on the sea state, as the waves are running around 1.5 m, and remember cod are rarely caught from this shore in summer, so October is only a fair-weather chance rather than the proper winter season from December to March.
